Responsibilities

Under direction of the Finance Director, the Finance Department is responsible for all financial transactions of the Village, including:

  • Collection of revenues
  • Maintenance of general ledgers
  • Accounts payable
  • Payroll / human resources
  • Utility billing
  • Reception / information
  • Investment of idle cash
  • Fixed assets

The department also prepares the annual tax levy, the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) and assists in the preparation of the annual budget.

Mission

Our mission is to provide exceptional customer service to residents and businesses, other village departments, and other governmental agencies by maintaining fiscal responsibility, monitoring and reporting financial activity on a regular basis, and maintaining procedural controls that are consistent with the policies set forth by the Village Board.
